Losing You

By Star Girl

Losing you

Was your choice

It was a difficult one

On my end, that is

I’m sorry that I lost you

But am I really?

One day I may never forgive you

The next I might forget you

In time you will lose me

Our connection was lost

Lost within space and time

Why was it wasted?

You’re not for me

It’s time to move on

But my heart

Will always yearn for more

It’s always hard to say goodbye

To those who wish it

But I will always wonder

Why was it so easy to leave me?

Like lost letters in the mail

My feelings were never read

I was never heard

I’m yearning for something

That never was

One day I might find someone

Settle down

Finally be loved

Move on from you

The next I’ll get a call

It’s you

Knocking on all my closed doors

Wishing to be let in

But you won’t

I’ll just say

“You hurt me”

But what I really meant was

“You were never mine”

And you never will be
