Bugsy 2/13

This Valentine’s show at 7th St Entry was a love letter to local punk-rock bands (pun intended).

Bugsy

The show was opened with performances by Mouthful, Fend, and Haze Gazer, many of whom have played in-studio at Radio K.

The night was headlined by Bugsy, a self-proclaimed “bug rock” Minneapolis band, which they state is “music for rabbits and rabbit lovers”. If that doesn’t paint the picture, their sound is adjacent to Gully Boys and similar vocals to Soccer Mommy. They involved dreamy guitar riffs and pretty vocals that would progress into loud rock and screams. Effective harmonies were produced between the two singers. Feedback from the guitar would bleed into the next song, creating a seamless transition. A crowd favorite was their hit “hard to breathe”, which had everyone chanting.

The night was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience, who found a way to mosh to every song. They closed off their performance by paying homage to a highly influential pop-punk band with a cover of “Dance Dance” by Fall Out Boy. Overall, the high-energy show was a cathartic experience for both performers and concertgoers.
