There are whole scenes that are totally unique to what is known is popular in the US. In the states, we have a variety of genres, and within those groups, even more, growing musicians or foundational bands who brought the genre we know to fruition. Of course, it’s the same abroad but most don’t even know that, some might even assume other countries listen to just American music. Sometimes a band grows too big for its own country and then crosses borders, but those are the rare exceptions. This show acknowledges the old groups that have done so much in their locality or who have rubbed off onto American music and those smaller groups that are doing so much but are just unknown.
