Otoboke Beaver Show Review

Otoboke Beaver is a Punk rock quartet hailing from the streets of Kyoto, Japan. Their group
consist of Accorinrin (あっこりんりん) - Lead Vocal, Yoyoyoshie (よよよしえ) - Guitar & Vocals,
Hiro-chan (ひろちゃん) - Bass & Vocals and finally Kahokiss (かほキッス) - Drums and Vocals. After
meeting each other at Kyoto University’s music club, all of its members would recognize their shared
passion for Punk rock and especially Riot Grrrl. This genre of music discusses a variety of topics that emphasize female solidarity such as body-politics, patriarchal societies and female empowerment.
Entering the Fine Line, a diverse population of Punk Rock fans would flood the venue to experience
Otoboke Beavers intense discography. The audience’s excitement produced an incredibly exhilarating
atmosphere that did lose momentum before the performance. As soon as Otoboke Beaver took the stage,
the pure voracity of their material did not disappoint. The aggressive basslines, drum fills, guitar riffs and
screaming vocals created an immense amount of sound that perfectly complemented their individual
personalities. There were a number of moments where its members would interact with the audience to
create an extra level of exuberance throughout the performance. This would come in the form of crowd
surfing or taunting the front row. In addition to this, Beaver would additionally weave in together pauses
and routines that would additionally include the audience and create a fun experience. Otoboke Beaver
has once again substantiated themselves as a talented group of individuals for the amount of passion they
pack into every performance that galvanizes any audience and showcases their phenomenal musical
talent.
